when will we get dsl?

i currently have comcast internet here on the island, and if any of you here also have it, im sure you are having some of the same unfortunate latency issues.
i hope that verizon will get dsl out here soon.. maybe we can start some sort of petition so they will find that the market is big enough? how many people here would get dsl if it was offered in ocean city?
