Kevin-first we vacationers have a right to discuss what goes on in your town. If it weren't for us, see what happens to your precious little city and the great depression that would set in there! Your city is built on the tourism industry and we tourists should have a little say in what goes on there. Not total control obviously, just a bit when it effects OUR vacation there.
Next, as far as picking a new town, point well taken. But do you seriously think business owners on the boardwalk want to lose business just because I was in bare feet? I tend to think not. Like I said before no one had a problem with me being barefoot on the boardwalk (fellow citizens, shopkeepers, etc.) except for one cop, who in his defense had to ask me to leave because of a few uptight bureaucrats in that town.
Beach = boardwalk = bare feet. They all go together.
